TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Driver
Age of the Carbonwood with a 60 layer Carbon Twist Face
Taylormade have pioneered the delevlopment of the Carbonwood age and once again Taylormade have pushed the boundaries to create the new Taylormade Stealth 2 Driver. For the past 20 years, golf drivers have been constructed using Titanium, however Taylormade knew titanium had its limits and have therfore used Carbon to deliver staggering performance. More Carbon and more FARGIVENESS.
Specifications:
Loft Options: The TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Driver is available in 9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and 12 degrees.
Shaft Options: Fujikura Ventus Red TR 5 Shaft (Stiff, Regular and Senior (A))
Taylormade have fitted the drivers with premium shafts as standard. The standard shaft is the Fujikura Ventus Red TR 5 shaft, which delivers a mid to high ball flight and mid spin. Available in Regular, Stiff and Senior flex.
Shaft Length: Standard length is 45.75 inches
Head Size: 460CC
Grip: The Taylormade Stealth 2 Drivers will be fitted with the Golf Pride Z-Grip Plus 2 Black/Red as standard.
Description
Energy transfer is essential to deliver high ball speeds from the club face. Taylormade found titanium had its limits and therefore after 20 years of research and development, they designed a 60 layer carbon twist face which optimises energy transfer to deliver staggering ball speeds. The Taylormade Stealth 2 builds upon the massive success of the 60X Carbon Twist face which was used in its predecessor to deliver an advanced version of the Inverted Cone Technology (ICT) which improves the energy transfer and ball speeds on off-centre strikes. This therefore means Taylormade have boosted the performance across the entire face with the Stealth 2. The new face also weighs just 24 grams which is 2 grams lighter than the original Stealth face, this has enabled Taylormade to expand the COR area for a larger sweet spot.
Taylormade have also introduced a Carbon reinforced composite ring which strengthens the driver head and allows mass to be redistributed strategically to provide more forgiveness and an optimal launch for speed- FARGIVENESS.
Taylormade engineered a revolutionary nanotexture cover which encases the 60 layer carbon face. The nanotexture cover optimises friction on the face to enhance spin rates and launch across the entire face in all weather conditions.
Aerodynamics is vital to improve club head speed and therefore ball speeds. Taylormade utilise an asymmetric inertia generator to create a head shape which aids swing speeds for golfers of any standard. The inertia generator targets the downswing which is the most critical stage of the swing, the result is greater ball speeds and distance. The rear of the head is fitted with a 25 gram weight, which delivers incredible MOI and consequently forgiveness.
Golfers do not hit the ball out of the middle of the face every time, so at the base of the head, Taylormade have incorporated a speed pocket. This has been engineered to boost ball speeds and forgiveness for low face strikes.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Driver Features:
60X layer Carbon Twist Face:
Taylormade have built upon the success of the original Stealth to create a face which delivers incredible ball speeds. Stealth 2 incorporates a new and advanced Inverted Cone Technology which has improved the energy transfer on off centre strikes meaning increased forgiveness. The face weighs just 24 grams which is 2 grams lighter than its predecessor. This has allowed Taylormade to expand the COR area resulting in a larger sweetspot. The new face really enhances distance and forgiveness, hence FARGIVENESS.
Carbon Reinforced Composite Ring:
A carbon ring which strengthens and unites the head into a singular force. Also allows for strategic placement of weight to improve MOI and therefore forgiveness.
Nanotexture Cover:
A nanotexture cover has been engineered to encase the 60 layer carbon twist face. It is a revolutionary design allowing Taylormade to optimise the launch and spin in both wet and dry conditions.
Asymmetric Inertia Generator:
Taylormade have refined the aerodynamic properties of the head using the Asymmetric Inertia Generator to improve the swing speed generation on the downswing for golfers of all standards. Improving the aerodynamics, increases swing speed and therefore ball speed, resulting in more distance. The head has also been strategically fitted with a 25 gram rear rate to provide incredible forgiveness.
Thru-Slot Speed Pocket:
Taylormade have engineered the flexible speed pocket which you can see on the base of the head. This speed pocket allows the face to flex at the bottom of the club face to maximise ball speeds and forgiveness on low face strikes.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Golf Driver is supplied with a matching headcover.
What is the difference between the Taylormade Stealth 2 Driver and Taylormade Stealth 2 HD Driver?
The Taylormade Stealth 2 driver is the standard model in the Stealth 2 range, whereas the Stealth 2 HD driver is a draw bias version. The Stealth 2 HD driver has a weight located towards the heel of the head to allow the toe of the club to kick through faster and therefore provide a corrective flight for those who struggle with a left to right shot shape or a slice. Another difference is the Stealth 2 is a mid to high launch and mid to low spin driver whereas the Stealth 2 HD is a high launch and mid spin driver.
What is the difference between The Fujikura Ventus Red TR 50 shaft and the Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 60?
The Fujikura Ventus Red TR 50 shaft is our most popular shaft and promotes a mid to high flight. The Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 60 Shaft is slightly heavier than the Ventus Red TR 5 and it therefore promotes a mid flight. The Diamana would suit a golfer who hits the ball high and wants to flight it down a bit more.
Why is the Taylormade Stealth 2 Driver Carbon and not titanium?
For the last 20 years, titanium has been the most used material when designing drivers. Taylormade however have pushed the boundaries in order to gain extra distance and forgiveness. In order to gain more distance, you need a face which optimises energy transfer. The 60 layer carbon face allows the face to flex more than a titanium face and therefore provides greater ball speeds and distance. Carbon is also lighter than Titanium, allowing Taylormade to utilise the weight savings and distribute more weight further back in the head in order to increase MOI and forgiveness.
What handicap range is the Taylormade Stealth 2 Driver for?
The Taylormade Stealth 2 provides optimal ball speed off the face for a low handicapper and impressive forgiveness for a higher handicapper, the driver is therefore suitable for all levels of golfer; from high handicappers to professionals.
