Mens Golf Wedges
Carrying the correct golf wedges has become a vital and very personal aspect of the discerning golfer's set of clubs. Many serious golfers are no longer willing to just use the standard wedges that form part of a set of irons — preferring to select their preferred style and brand to suit their game. A more bladed style of wedge is far more versatile and gives the golfer a wide range of lofts, bounce angles, and sole grinds to choose from to make sure their strike, spin, and distance control is as good as it can be.

Golf Wedges
These hugely versatile golf clubs are at the cutting edge of technology. Wedges can be used for escaping bunkers, chips, lobs or even full and partial shots from the fairway and rough. Brands like Callaway, Cobra, Mizuno, and Titleist adorn our range, offering the full scope of functionality. They are typically categorised into four groups: pitching wedges, gap wedges, sand wedges, and lob wedges. The most common wedge setup among golfers is a four-wedge setup, consisting of one wedge from each category. This allows for maximum versatility around the green all the way up to around 130 yards.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many wedges do I need?
Golfers typically carry three or four wedges in their bag for various reasons. Most common is to ensure proper distance gapping on full and partial shots from around 50-130 yards. Other benefits include easier bunker play and escaping greenside rough with a high-bounce sand or lob wedge or alternatively, utilising a wedge with trailing edge relief for delicate open-face shots.
What is a typical wedge setup?
It is important to know the lofts of your iron set to choose the correct wedge lofts and the number of wedges you want to carry. Ideally there would be a gap of 4-6 degrees between each wedge which equates to approximately 10-15 yards. If your PW is 44 degrees, a good four-wedge setup (including the PW) could be 50, 56 and 60. If you opt for just three wedges, the addition of a 50 and 56 retains proper gapping.
What is the purpose of each wegde?
There are no hard rules around the short game. It is an opportunity to get creative with the type of shots you play and experiment to find out what works for you. Lower loft wedges are typically used more for full and partial shots from the fairway and rough, whereas you may have a favourite wedge around the green and for bunker shots for more predictability.
Should I match my wedges to my irons?
Not necessarily. Some golfers, especially beginners and high-handicappers, may benefit matching the pitching wedge, sand wedge, and even gap/approach wedge with their irons. Many beginner-friendly sets offer these as add-ons and can be cheaper than premium wedges. Lower handicap golfers on the other hand, may benefit more from increased spin, customised loft gapping, and specific sole grinds that accommodate open-face shots around the green.
