Taylormade Rocketballz

Taylormade RBZ Driver

Taylormade RBZ Driver RocketBallz

The new RocketBallZ driver from Taylormade comes with a ton of attitude. Designed to be easy to launch high and straight this driver will send the ball amazing distances.
Taylormade have managed to create a driver in the RBZ that goes considerably further than its popular predecessor the Burner Superlaunch 2.0 despite having a shorter length shaft which is very welcome for the average golfer to get greater control as well.

One look at the Taylormade RBZ driver was all we needed to realise there was a new dawn coming in driver technology. We were concerned when Taylormade called a halt to the huge selling Burner franchise but the RocketBallz driver offers a real leap forward. The Burner 2.0 was a great driver for distance but golfers often suffered with a lack of consistancy, the new Taylormade Rocketballz gets that balance just right.

The RBZ driver features a lightweight graphite shaft and an excellent no-nonsense hosel adjustment. Simply use the supplied wrench to loosen the shaft, spin it round and move it to one of the 8 settings. This will allow the loft of the driver to be adjusted by plus or minus 1.5 degrees and the face angle by plus or minus 3 degrees. Increasing the loft will also increase the draw bias making the adjustability a great feature for a wide range of golfers. This means the RBZ driver can offer a real improvement for any golfer from a low slice shape to a high hook.

The technicians from Taylormade have been able to improve the centre of gravity for a high launch, low spinning drive which is the key to very long, accurate drives.

460cc head size for maximum forgiveness and comes fitted with a Matrix Xcon 5 graphite shaft in choice of flexes, supplied with wrench for adjustment and matching headcover.

Features include

·      * Flight control technology to adjust loft up or down and face angle

·      * Lightweight shaft and grip which makes for faster swing speed and longer drives

·      * Reshaped aerodynamic head for faster speed and more distance

·      * Inverted cone technology to make sweetspot larger across face

·      * White head with black face to aid alignment

Comes supplied with matching Taylormade RBZ driver headcover and wrench for adjusting the head.

This is a welcome addition to the Taylormade driver range and for your average player offers exceptional distance with real forgiveness and ease of use.

Taylormade have managed to lower the centre of gravity and move it forward in the clubhead, this gives it a high initial launch with low spin so it will not keep rising, the result is longer straighter shots.

The white head has now proved itself, combined with the black face it makes the Taylormade RBZ driver very easy to line up and even reduces glare in bright sunlight.

This Rocketballz driver has a shorter shaft than its predecessor which we think is a massive plus point for greater control. It also has wide appeal to many different golfing abilities thanks to its adjustability.

It may not offer the workability of the Taylormade R11s driver but for the player who just wants to hit it high, straight and very long that won't be a problem.

This driver will help to cement Taylormade drivers to the top of the market.

Taylormade RBZ Driver
by James C, 7 Feb 2012
The RBZ rocks!!! Although i have only had it a week and used it for just 2 rounds but I have definetly gained more distance and amazingly more accuracy! 17 yards more distance as its advertised is definetly correct!I absolutely love the feel and look of it and am hoping the snow melts so I can get back out there and use it again!!

The Taylormade RBZ driver has quickly become one of the best selling drivers we have ever had. It has huge appeal across the board for a wide range of golfers of all abilities. The RBZ is as you would expect very long off the tee but the real bonus is how easy to use this Taylormade driver is. Adjustability in drivers has in the past put off the less accomplished golfers but the RBZ is so straightforward to adjust it has been adopted by even the most novice golfer.

The adjustment allows the loft of the RBZ driver to be changed up or down by a significant 1.5 degrees meaning that a 10.5 driver can be changed down to a 9 or 9.75 degree or up to a 11.25 or 12 degree. The change will also slightly alter the face angle which can be a real help too, for instance making the RBZ driver more lofted will close the face slightly to help encourage a draw where reducing the loft will make the club sit a touch more open and help to prevent a hook. Generally speaking most golfers who hit the ball low and require more loft will also benefit from a touch of draw or fade reduction. For the stronger golfers there is a Tour model for a more neutral clubface.

To adjust the driver it is simply a case of inserting the Taylormade wrench that comes supplied with it into where the shaft meets the head. Unscrew this until the head comes off and simply turn the shaft to the desired setting lining up the arrows with the clubhead. Then tighten up the screw until it bites and one final strong turn will make the torque wrench click so you know it is secure. One word of warning though, adjustment is not allowed by the rules during your round so make sure you have it set correctly before you start.

This driver also known as the Taylormade Rocketballz has a very solid feel off the face and sounds great too which makes the noisy, hollow feeling drivers from a few years ago a thing of the past. The lightweight shaft on the Taylormade RBZ driver helps to create faster head speed which is directly translated into more distance. Taylormade have put a lot of research into finding the best performing shaft with this head and this all helps to make a solid feel, well tuned driver.

The RBZ driver has the maximum head size allowed which is 460cc, the lie angle is 59.5 degrees and the shaft length is 46" with an overall swingweight set at D4.
