The Taylormade R1 Driver goes one step further for a wide range of golfing abilities thanks to its impressive adjustability. It has a 3 way adjustment that now offers even more settings than the previous model. Taylormades very latest driver technology has added even more distance which has made this a massive hit on the Tour.

Taylormade Drivers for 2013
>Taylormade R1 Driver
This is the flagship of the 2013 range and and the latest exciting development in the Taylormade white driver sequence. The R1 has some stunning graphics on the crown which not only look amazing but give real practical help with lining up.
The club feels significantly lighter to swing than the R11s and is much easier to use which helps to broaden its appeal to all levels of golfer.

The loft can be adjusted anywhere from 8 to 12 degrees giving it incredible flexibility. Any change to loft will impact on the way the club sits i.e open or closed and unlike other brands adjustable drivers the R1 has a simple sole plate adjustment to change it back to sit how you like. This means if you want a lower ball flight and adjust it to 9 degree this will open the face, adjusting the sole plate to slightly closed will get it back to dead square. The adjustment is easier to fine tune than any Taylormade driver thats gone before and this is one of the reasons it will be their best selling driver this year.

So, Taylormade have made the R1 easier to use and have given it better and more versatile adjustment than anything else on the market but thats not the reason that its created such a stir throughout the golfing world, that reason is simple more distance- lots more distance. Now we have all heard this before, in 2012 in fact but who could deny that Taylormades claims on the old RBZ were spot on-  it delivered more distance. The engineers have come up with even more distance with this new driver and its new found ease of use and accuracy will make it a strong candidate for the best ever performing driver on the market.

Having tested the driver extensively at the range all of us here at CompleteGolfer.co.uk are finding it hard to imagine there could be anyone who could be disappointed with the Taylormade R1 driver. It feels great, looks amazing and delivers exceptional distance. The way the club sits behind the ball and the quality of the shaft are going to widen its appeal. Some of our guys would normally use the TP shafts or even something more exotic but the quality and performance of the standard shaft takes away the need to upgrade. It coped admirably with some of our pros who generate very high clubhead speeds as well as suiting the more standards swing speeds amongst us.

Taylormade are adamant this premium priced driver will be their top seller (and no doubt the best seller of any brand) in 2013 and a few hits with it and you can't help but agree with them, its awesome.
>Taylormade RBZ Stage 2 Driver
The Taylormade RBZ driver took the market by storm in 2012 but their engineers have managed to significantly improve it for 2013. Even more distance and greater forgiveness will give everyone a good reason to upgrade. Whilst the new driver may play second fiddle to the premium priced R1 driver its still a great choice for the average player with moderate swing speed as the shaft is the lightest in the range and the head has a very low centre of gravity to help get the ball airborne.

The RBZ stage 2 will come in a choice of lofts 9.5, 10,5 and HT (13 degrees) as well as a a number of shaft flexes to suit all swing speeds. Choose from regular flex, stiff flex or for the slower swingers or senior players there is the mature flex option.

The stage 2 is sure to help cement Taylormades position right at the top of the golf driver market, it looks great and hits the ball miles with a minimum of effort. The new graphics on the top of the head are not only eye-catching but serve a real purpose in alignment which helps to combat one of the most common errors off the tee made by the average golfer. The Rocketballz stage 2 has the same easy adjustability that helped make its predecessor so popular, simply remove the head by inserting the supplied wrench and twist the shaft round to the desired loft setting. Its worth remembering that if you decrease the loft it will sit slightly open and if you add loft it will become more closed and promote a draw. A fader or slicer of the ball can add loft to make the club more forgiving and easier to launch whilst getting help to prevent that distance reducing left to right shape. Those looking for more adjustability than this may benefit by paying a bit more for the R1 as the way the club sits can be controlled independantly from the loft.

The driver comes with a new improved but still incredibly lightweight Rocketfuel graphite shaft that is designed to get the best performance out of this club. It has a high launch but with low spin to help generate maximum distance in all conditions. Also comes with a funky bright yellow headcover to stand out from the crowd.

Taylormade Drivers - The 2012 Range
>Taylormade RBZ Driver

The Taylormade RBZ driver has caused quite a stir in golf this year, it is incredibly easy to use with its 460cc head and generous size clubface. The shaft is extremely lightweight and it makes this Taylormade driver designed to launch it amazing distances.

This is the model that is perhaps best suited to the average player, the RBZ or Rocketballz as it is also known is shorter in the shaft than its predecessor the Burner superfast 2.0 and that gives added control. The light shaft adds more power to the head and offers greater swing speed but the real bonus is how fast the ball comes off the face at impact.

The RBZ driver does have a slight draw bias but sits beautifully square at address making it very inviting to hit. The black face of the driver offers a nice contrast against the golf ball and this helps aid lining up. The Taylormade RBZ driver comes with a wrench to offer an adjustment in the loft of 1.5 degrees higher or lower, this can also change the way the club sits and for such a simple adjustment can offer a real benefit for those inclined to tinker with the settings.

Very quickly after its launch early 2012 it was clear that the initial buzz behind this driver was not all marketing, word quickly spreads around members of golf clubs when they see the added distance the RBZ gives to their playing partners. More distance is all well and good but what is really impressive is how forgiving and accurate the Rocketballz driver is.

>Taylormade R11s Driver

After the success in 2011 the Taylormade R11 driver looked like a hard act to follow but the engineers have done quite a job on the R11s driver.

With a slightly larger head than its predecessor the Taylormade R11s offers a larger sweetspot but still maintains the penetrating ball flight that the stronger player requires. It looks more inviting to hit and has proved itself to be considerably longer in distance.

The R11s has greater adjustability with over 80 different options to create the perfect ball flight and control for the individual. The loft can be changed up or down as required and the face angle can be set to varying degrees of draw or fade, when the loft is changed the face angle changes with it so this can be adjusted back to neutral so the club can sit as you want with the exact loft you require. The supplied wrench can also change around the weights to offer more or less draw spin as required. Sounds complicated? well it is actually very easy to self fit this driver and it is worth taking your time in practice to get the right setting so you get the best performance out of the R11s.

It looks like the white heads that a lot of people thought would come and go quickly are here to stay and they have been so commonplace now that they no longer draw the attention as when they were first launched in 2011. The white combined with the black face has proved to be a real success as the ball is perfectly highlighted at address and in bright sunlight there is no glare from the crown. White headed drivers have started to be very prominent on the European and PGA tours.

There is an r11s matching fairway wood which works great with this driver also offering its own customised settings via the wrench.

>Taylormade RBZ Tour Driver

This is a more neutral version of the Taylormade RBZ driver offering a small looking head with a deeper face and heavier slightly stronger shaft.

It is designed for the single figured golfer and below as it has a slightly more penetrating ball flight and offers the ability to work the ball to the shape you require. The RBZ tour is adjustable and the loft can be changed 1.5 degrees up or down and also offers the chance to change the way the clubhead sits , open, closed or neutral.

The wrench is inserted at the base of the shaft and this allows the head to be removed. The arrow on the head can be aligned up with the desired setting marked on the shaft hosel. Designed to be a very simple adjustment to make the driver very easy to be self fitted.

It is a great looking club and for a tour driver it is exceptionally forgiving and it works great with Taylormades choice of shaft with this driver the Matrix XCON 6 which being heavier than the standard RBZ shaft is again better suited to the stronger golfer.

The RBZ tour is also available in a range of TP shafts which offer some more exotic shaft choices for the discerning player.

>New technology for 2013

On the January 3rd the news R1 one driver was introduced to the world from there headquarters in Carlsbad, California the driver would be continuing with there mastery of adjustable drivers which is by far the best in there history or any brand history, the R1 driver has a 12-loft sleeve settings and 7 face angle options ,with there well know 2 moveable weights for getting the desired ball flight required. These 3 options give the driver a option of 168 different settings. The new driver does not come with a standard loft angle stamped on the head but the inter changeable shaft giving the option to move the driver from 8 all the way through to 12. The idea of this option to change the loft to suit you best comes from there Chief technical officer Dr. Benoit Vincent this is due to research taken out shows that 80 percent of golfers are not using the correct loft this design giving every golfer the option to find the correct loft to suit them best and give them the maximum distance and launch angle. The theory behind the graphics on top of the anti-glare white coating its helps to square up the club face of the driver and the V shape of the preserved white space behind the leading edge provides a frame to position the ball against helping to focus and alignment.

The driver also comes with a thick-think crown technology, allowing to vary the thickness of the crown helped taylormade to save weight that is repositioned to move the central gravity lower and further forward, moving the central gravity slightly lower helps with higher launch angle and moving it forward promotes faster ball speed with greater distance.

The driver also features the inverted cone technology which expands the area of the clubface that helps to create more ball speed of them slight off centre hits.

The new R1 driver in my opinion is the hottest product due out this year and I feel other brands may struggle to keep up with the way taylormade are moving forwards leap and bounds its not just the R1 in my opinion it’s the whole range. My only worry with regards to the R1 driver is where can taylormade go from here but im sure they will come out with something that will prove me wrong and any doubters.

>Taylormade Hype?
The new Taylormade R1 driver is easily their most advanced driver to date, with its 12 different loft options and its 7 different face angles makes this the most adjustable driver in the market.

When I first saw the R1 I thought that I was going to be put off by the graphics on the top even though it was a great looking head however when I took it to the range to hit it I absolutely loved it, as soon as I put it behind the ball you forget about the graphics and focus on the ball. The R1 has a deeper head than the previous R11S model which in my opinion gives it a better shaped head with less of the sole of the club on the ground which I like, then to the performance it gives a solid and penetrating ball flight with a solid feel off the head many different players will find this driver appealing.

The marketing team at Taylormade Golf in my opinion deserve a pay rise!! The hype that they have managed to great around first the RBZ family and R11S and now the R1 driver and RBZ Stage 2 is unbelievable, using many different ways out on tour, on the TV and using social media sites such as twitter and facebook. The reason they do this is to create a demand for their new products and try and give them a head start in the market against there competitors.

Many of Taylormade’s tour staff players have put the R1 driver straight in the bag players such a Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Brian Gay, Johnson Wagner, Troy Matterson, Pat Perez and in Europe players such as Darren Clarke, Peter Hanson and 5 Time Challenge Tour winner Sam Little. This is a massive positive for them to get such a well taken product from their tour team as it gets the product out there and seen by the public which is one of the keys for people to see the best players in the world using it on TV and many of them will want it.

The R1 Driver is a stand alone driver this year where as in the past they have had an R9 family or and R11 family which means making the fairway wood like the driver or driver like the fairway wood which may compromise the looks or performance this year they have only created an R1 driver allowing it to be there best performing product to date.

>R1 on tour and beyond
Ever since Taylormade first introduced the adjustable driver that was the R7 Quad, I was always wondering how they could improve on it. I thought to myself they just can’t get their driver any better. You can try yourself and think what can they do and you have no answer.

They R and D team at Taylormade are years ahead of everyone else and every other golfing brand. It’s like they have the best science and tech guys from NASA, military and aviation all under one roof to produce these new mind-blowing drivers time after time after time. As the models of R7 moved forward, eventually onto R9 and then the what some would call crazy white headed driver the R11, Taylormade have stunned me each time with their driver models, and people agreed as it was the most successful driver sale ever in the history of golf.

R11 was special I mean really special, I remember the first time I saw it and just thought “oh wow, that is quality”. Such a simple idea that Taylormade had thought of making a white head. It came to me “that’s brilliant “I remember saying out loud to my colleagues. The concept made so much sense to all of us. Just changing the colour to make the driver look easier to hit and even easier to align with your target line. It’s simply magic, Luke Donald using it when contracted to Mizuno did it no harm either.

Looking at Taylormades history of drivers they have fought long and hard to produce the longest, fastest and easiest to hit drivers all the time for every golfer good or bad. The new R1 is no different; with even more adjustability than the R11 and R11s this driver is better than both.

What appealed the most to me was the ability to adjust the drivers loft all the way from 8 degrees up to 12. This is as important as so many golfers out there do play with the wrong loft on their driver, losing distance and costing them shots.

The adjustable Sole Plate allows you to change the face-angle settings to help golfers get the precise, confidence-building look at address. There is 7 different face angles neutral/square, slightly open, more open, maximum open, slightly closed, more closed and maximum closed. The Face angle can be easily changed without affecting the loft, an adjustability benefit offered only by TaylorMade. This is so special for a driver to have even just these options as it can appeal to every golfer in the world. The bad golfer may have it closed with a higher loft to hit a high draw, where the good golfer may want it kept at neutral or slightly open to shape their drives. It’s fantastic it appeals to everyone.

Without stopping there the R1 still has what the good old R7 had in the adjustable weight technology. Slightly updated with a newer design TaylorMade's movable shot-shape weights positioned in the clubs sole allow the golfer to easily shift the clubhead's centre of gravity location by 5 millimetres. This will help to promote either a draw or a neutral/straight trajectory, helping golfers hit the ball longer and give them more accuracy depending on what shot they wish to hit.

Personally I was able to put the driver on the loft of 10.5 with a slightly open face as I love that look and the result was staggering.

But best of all in my opinion what I just loved about the R1 was not only that when I hit it there is a huge smashing sound at impact sending the golf ball flying past my current tee shots with my Ping G20.

The alignment graphic on the matte white finished crown, just designing the triangular shape just forced me to focus on hitting out of the middle of the club time after time. It allows you to really go after your drives and it makes you want to smash the living daylights out of the golf ball because you know your alignment between clubface and ball is spot on.

We at completegolfer.co.uk just know that this driver is going to be the best seller in 2013. Each one of our staff hit it better than our current driver; even our longest players were longer and more impressively more accurate. Every golfer in the world is just “gonna want one”, regardless of whether you need a new driver or not, it is so spectacular and fun to hit, it gives you every reason to upgrade.

There will be other new releases from the other golfing brands like Callaway golf, Ping, Titleist just to name a few. All will offer adjustable drivers to help golfers find their perfect club. However we still see that the King of adjustability being Taylormade will reign supreme. “All for one and one for all” is the saying; anybody can be fitted to this golf club.

Without a shadow of a doubt the R1 is going in my bag for this forthcoming golfing season.

This is just me, I and what ability I have to hit a golf ball as best as I can. The golfers who Taylormade really have to impress are the playing professionals of the world who bear the Taylormade brand and ever famous logo.

The Taylormade tour staff players are getting longer all the time and yes the equipment helps them to achieve this. Without doubt through their whole staff bag they are longer and more accurate, but what gets these guys to fire a lower score and be able to hit closer to the pin is having a shorter second shot into the green.

The big stick keeps getting better and better, R11 startled the tour not just taylormade staff players but every pro golfer in the world, the matte white was a revolution. Now the R1 is a revolution, new longer distance and forgivness that every pro wants to have, to own and to keep with them for as long as they play.

Dustin Johnson said “I don’t need a computer to tell me”

This was after hitting a 316 yard drive in testing with a 183 miles per hour ball speed.

Sean O’hair said “Made a few adjustments and all of a sudden I’ve got the shot shape that I want now”

Sergio Garcia said “I love it yeah I think it’s great”

Jason Day said “Ten yards further than this one, I really didn’t think you could do it”

Just a few of the best players in the world being blown away by the R1. Making their drives faster, longer, dialled in and more accurate.

Speaking of the tour professionals Dustin Johnson had the R1’s first win on the PGA tour by winning the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii. He steered past the brutal winds and rainy weather to capture the event ahead of a star packed field. His driver delivered what he needed to stay ahead of the field.

Also with regards to staff players TaylorMade were proud to announce a contract extension with European Tour player Darren Clarke. Tour staff professional Darren Clarke will continue to use TaylorMade equipment, including the PENTA TP5 ball; have TaylorMade logo on the front of his headwear and use a TaylorMade staff bag. The contract will go up to his 50th Birthday.

R1 just this so little name has sent the golfing world insane, to catch a glimpse of it, to hold it, to feel it, to smash it further than ever before.

This driver created the perfect calm before the storm, as soon as this driver is launched in the completegolfer the storm will begin and stay for the whole year. The buzz surrounding this new advance in Taylormades driver arsenal has been like no other. People were quessing “what it could be, what will they call it, can it really be better than ever before”. They certainly can!

The first commericalised TV advert showing staff players and the driver sent the public crazy, the R1 face painting on the players like dustin johnson and sergio garcia really show off what taylormade have created. It sends a message so clear cut to the world that the driver just has to be bought. You are on the edge of your seat just seeing the advert and you want to watch it again and again just to make sure you havn’t missed anything. The name gets people thinking about what could taylormade possibly do to the driver to call it R1. This is really what the golf world has been waiting for and they will not be disappointed.

All what Taylormade create and give out to the world in terms of hardwear is always comlimented by a fantastic array of softgoods. In this case there is everything R1 rite from caps to bags to a stunning staff bag that will be seen on the tv from now as R1 floods the PGA and European tours making it the number 1 driver in golf yet again.
>RBZ Stage 2 Drivers loft is the key
When a new driver comes along and in this case the new RBZ for 2013 the general outlook by most would be to think hear we go again another driver the same as the first model of RBZ. Maybe a different colour or different shape or shaft, but mostly the same.

Not in this case, Stage 2 has been made better, fact what we know now is that Taylormade’s first model of RBZ was only the beginning of something superior to all other drivers in the world.

At first glance we can see that the new model has had a new colour scheme put to it and certainly the driver’s appearance is fantastic. But that’s only the minor change. What we really look for is an even faster, higher ball speed hitting driver for that extra yardage off the tee.

Compared to the first RBZ the Stage 2 has a much bigger face and better aerodynamics for more distance. This has been made possible by taken into consideration that every golfer even the good ones don’t quite hit the middle of the club face all the time.

Taylormade have expanded the Stage 2 face making it 4,100 square millimetres. The face being bigger means the golfer can get a higher ball speed even if not hit out of the middle so they won’t loose the distance. What this will mean is that the inverted cone technology used in all Taylormade drivers is spread wider across a bigger face thus giving the club faster ball speed across a bigger face.

The clubs improved aerodynamics makes it a faster club through the air creating a faster club head trough the ball at impact. Less drag on the downswing means the golfer will pick up more head speed equalling a faster ball speed to hit it further.

In the RBZ that was first produced the centre of gravity or CG for short was forward in the club head. What this meant was an extremely high launch driver was made. This would explain how the launch angle with the correct loft was so high from the tee that the balls hang time was incredible.

Every golfer who owns the first model knows what this means. The balls flight was such a high rainbow trajectory the golf ball just didn’t drop from the sky as soon as it reached its apex, meaning its highest point in the sky it carried on going forwards and not downwards. Distance was just so easy!

Stage 2 has its CG location pushed even further forward in the club head so its just gunna go even further of the tee not questions about it as Taylormade have made this possible by giving the head what’s called thick-thin crown design.

Customising this driver for your own game has been made even easier and not so tricky in choosing which loft is best for your game. The new loft sleeve technology offers 7 standard and 5 upright loft options. Golfers will be able to add + 1.5 degrees to each of the standard club head lofts. For example a driver that’s head is 9.5 degrees can be adjusted to either up to 11 degrees of down to 8 degrees. A 10.5 degree driver head can be either made up to 12 degrees or down to 9 degrees. It’s that simple on choosing you best loft for most distance and accuracy of the tee.

Yes, this new driver still has the revolutionary matte white crown that covers up the suns hot spots, which allows the golfer to really concentrate on their alignment and golf ball. Speaking of alignment what’s really clever is the new crown graphic, designed in a triangle shape it’s a big alignment aid on the crown to help the golfer of all skill levels home in on their target and make sure that their ball is in the middle of the club face at address.

This is the same for the new Stage 2 fairway woods, Taylormade have improved these too. Its a fact better players will gain up to 10 yards more against the first Rocketballz fairways as the new wood has an ultra high strength faster flexing face supplied by a metals specialist company called Carpenter.

Using this new face the speed pocket was re designed to promote even greater ball speeds off the club face. With a lower, more forward CG location just like the Stage 2 driver the fairway woods can hit a faster ball speed, even higher launch sending the ball astonishing distances.

As this would possibly affect the golfer’s ability to get the ball airborne, the designers changed the  profile by making the face shallower and head overall lower so the playability is increased and it’s still easy to launch from the deck.

Loft is the key to better game as studies showed 80% of golfers out there play the incorrect loft!

What the golfer can choose from now is a new unique 5 wood that’s a HL loft and a 7 wood with a higher loft too. The brand still offers your standard 15 degree 3 wood the HL 3 wood at 17 degrees and 5 woods at 19 degrees. But what’s so thoughtful of Taylormade is the new 5 wood HL is loft is 21 degrees making the 7 wood 23 degrees.

This idea is simply brilliant because it gives a golfer who struggles getting the golf ball airborne because of using an incorrect loft a far greater chance of enjoying the game. Someone who possibly has a lower swing speed or has always found fairway woods hard work can buy higher lofted woods to make it easier for them without loosing any distance at all

Once again what this encourages is that all golfers must play the correct loft on all of their woods in their bag, driver right through to the fairways and rescue clubs.
